Additionally, DAC helps to slow down rapid kidney excretion. DAC works to protect against peptide degradation by covalently bonding to serum albumin either in an in vivo or ex vivo fashion. By covalently bonding DAC to albumin, the compound is able to block peptidase cleavage. Additionally, the attachment to DAC allows for more widespread distribution of the compounds throughout the body
